This is a personal animation test I created some weeks ago. I wanted to do something simple and try to express some internal thoughts through the eyes... Learning a lot in the process ...
It's a very flexible and fun rig to play with... gotta do some more stuff with it :)

Little Alien - WIP

After the introduction to modeling and rigging I had 4 months ago I wanted to keep on learning this challenging field so I decided to model and rig a little Alien from a drawing I had. 

Animation is very time consuming so this is just a WIP; I started to rig the whole face and now it's time to finish the rest of the body. I know it's far from being good but I have learned a lot during the process and I'm quite glad about it :)

Origami Yoda

This is an old origami Yoda I made some years ago and I wanted to share with you. Fumiaki Kawahata is the master and creator of this amazing folding. 

This is not a drawing nor animation but it's another kind of art and usually very unknown for the public. I've enjoyed origami since I was a little kid  and every now and then I like to practice it a little bit.

Who could have ever imagined that a whole universe full of dreams is hidden between the folds of a simple piece of paper...?

Naya

En un tiempo pasado
que sólo el viento tiene en su memoria,
nació una niña en el mundo,
y como Naya se le recuerda.

Era una niña muy hermosa

de largas piernas y esbelto cuerpo,

con finos brazos

y de corazón, un cielo.

Tenía un extraño cabello,

nacían flores y ramas,

las avispas y demás insectos

sus dorados hilos trenzaban.

Era inquietante y extraño,

pero a la vez hermoso y bello,

¿ Acaso no puede la tierra

besar en el horizonte el cielo ?.

Con sus pies pequeños y desnudos

por las ignotas tierras paseaba,

y el baldío paraje tras sus pasos

convertido en flores se quedaba.

Una tarde cuando el sol se apagaba,

conoció a una rosa oscura.

Fino tallo de espinas

y dos hojas, formaban su figura.

- ¡ Niña, qué preciosa

y qué bonita eres!.

- ¡ Gracias rosa !, exclamó Naya.

- Acércate si quieres.

Se acercó a la rosa

sin saber lo que el destino deparaba.

¿ Acaso a veces no nos encaminamos

hacia lugares donde la luz no alcanza ?.

Mas de pronto,

de rojo la sangre su cuello tiñó,

espinas le atravesaban y ahogaban.

- Sonrie, guapa. No puedes, ¿ no ?.

Cerró los ojos, exhaló un suspiro

y voló el alma.

Quedó su cuerpo tendido,

bajo las estrellas, en calma.

Yerto cuerpo
en la madrugada,
se convirtió en semillas
que el viento alzaba.

Volaron por la tierra
y más allá de los mares,
las cimas de las montañas
y los profundos valles.


Nacieron así los bosques,
hogar de gnomos y hadas,
espíritus sin nombre,
en nuestra madre Gaia.

Here it is the playblast of a little animation I've done these last weeks. I keep on learning and practice. This term in Animschool we're focus in modeling and rigging so I don't have too much time to animate.

and in his brain was born a spark.

Poor man, you were doomed

My sweet and charming monster,
a pawn in a wicked game.

Tattoos appear on my skin,

Term 1 comes to an end...

And it ended...


Here you have a progress reel with the animations I've been working this last term. It has gone so fast that I can't believe it. I've learned and worked a lot, there are so many things to learn and I'm just in the beginning of the race!! 


It has been a wonderful experience. It's so great to be surrounded by animators that work on animated films you go to cinema to enjoy. Listen to their critiques ( there's no better way to learn ), feedback and have great classmates...I couldn't have done this without you.


Thanks for these months and in a few weeks we'll be back with much more.
